Maple Cream & The Best Syrup

Fruit Syrups Are A Secret Ingredient

I came home from an annual summer trade show this year very enthusiastic about some of the products I’ve tried, and I happened to mentioned to a friend that I’d tasted a lovely maple cream. When she asked, “A lovely maple cream what?” I was startled; it didn’t occur to me that someone might not know what maple cream is.

But subsequent questioning of a few other friends revealed the sad truth: There are a lot of people out there unaware of maple cream. Think of it as the maple equivalent of creamed honey; instead of being a thick liquid, it’s spreadable. And in the case of Tonewood Maple, it’s also exquisite. Smooth, thick, and with a maple flavor to dream about, this will elevate simple morning toast to new heights.

Wholly Maple: Maple Cream, Maple Cubes, Maple Flakes, Maple
Seasoning, Maple Syrup, Maple Wafers

But Tonewood Maple is a multidimensional business, so you can get that wonderful maple flavor in other forms as well.

  • How about Maple Flakes, which combine that special taste with a bit of crunch?
  • There’s a Maple Cube, a cube of pure maple sugar (grate or shave off some of the cube whenever you need maple flavor).
  • Maple Wafers, also composed of pure maple sugar, are another offering.
  • There’s even a black pepper-sea salt-maple sugar Maple Seasoning (try it on Brussels sprouts and other veggies, lamb, poultry or pork).

For the artsy foodie: maple sugar in solid form to grate over cereal, fruit salad and other foods.
  • And of course, traditional liquid maple syrup is available, too. You can choose from four different grades. Fancy is produced from the season’s first run of sap, and it’s the palest in color, with a mild flavor. Medium Amber and Dark Amber are progressively darker in color, with deeper maple flavor. And then there’s my favorite, Grade B, which has the most robust flavor and darkest hue.

Adopt A Maple Tree

You have another clever gift option: You can adopt a maple tree for yourself or as a gift.

It’s a virtual adoption, but it does allow you to support both small-scale maple syrup producers and sustainable farming practices.

You’ll receive an adoption certificate and photo of your tree (add the picture to your smart phone and bring it out to show off when your friends brag about their kids).

Further, you’ll receive a 250 ml bottle of each of the four different types of maple syrup Tonewood Maple offers, as well as a Maple Cube and a box of those Maple Wafers.

A sweet gift indeed!

How about a box of Maple Wafers for the cookie lover?
